Jonathan & Amber- July 4th, 2015

They're adorable. Jonathan and Amber are that adorable couple that you just want to adopt. They are a perfect mix of sarcasm, corkiness and sweetness wrapped up in two adorable people.

The first meeting we had with Jonathan and Amber, I remember asking if there are any photos in particular that they either want or don't want to take place. Jonathan immediately said, "I don't like sun shots," I believe his words were, they're corny or lame. This is where we queue the portfolio and what should be on the very first page but a sun shot! It really was pretty funny and continued to be a joke every time we saw each other.

The day of their wedding, it was a beautiful, sunny, but quite hot. The venue was Spring Creek Homestead. I've shot many weddings over the years at this venue, but theirs was the first one I got to shoot down by the water. By the time the ceremony started, that area was completely covered in shade, which was nice for the guests on such a hot day.

Amber and Jonathan did most of the setting up themselves, with the help from family and friends. Amber did her own makeup and hair, which I thought was perfect. Amber is just one of those naturally beautiful people and needs nothing done to look good. Her dress was just as I would have expected, just very simple, but absolutely stunning at the same time. Don't even get me started on her shoes, they were amazing!

Jonathan and his groomsmen were very laid back and chummy with each other. Jonathan had said early on he's awful at fake posing, it has to be natural. So I asked the boys to just act as they would if they weren't taking pictures and they all threw their arms around each other, it was perfect.

Jonathans' Dad was the officiant for the ceremony, he did such a wonderful job explaining Jonathan and Ambers journey to that day. There was laughter and happy tears alike.

The ceremony transitioned easily into the reception. There was a dance off between Jonathan and a guest which was extremely entertaining! They also played the shoe game, which is always fun to watch. Eventually, a group made their way to the back patio to light up some cigars. Everything was very easy going and fun, which I think describes Amber and Jonathan very well.

Amber and Jonathan, I just want to say what a pleasure it was working with you two. You guys are ridiculously photogenic and so easy to work with. I wish you the very best for the future and hope I get to work with you again!
