50. It's a milestone age. It's also an age that many don't want to celebrate.

I met Michele a little over a year ago. I fell in love with her and her story from the very moment I started talking to her. She's honestly one of the most genuinely kind person I've ever met and just the sweetest soul. Her story of overcoming and looking at the brighter side, and just her attitude in general, just made me fall in love with her. But her story is not mine to tell, it's hers. So instead, I'll tell you about when she contacted me for this session.

Her message went a little something like this... 'I am turning 50 GASP! in July and am pondering doing something fun to celebrate....have you done an adult cake smash?' To which my response was, 'I haven't, and I would absolutely love to!!!'

I'd seen these sessions all over Pinterest and I've always thought they looked so fun! But most of them that I saw were to celebrate 30 or even 40, I don't know that I've ever seen one for 50, which only made me want to do it more. Age is a daunting thing for most and it's not always a desire to celebrate getting older. I love that Michele has the attitude that it should be celebrated because life is a celebration and the older you get, the longer you've been able to celebrate and experience it.

Michele picked Elk Ridge campground for the session location, and I don't think we could have had a better location to use. With the help of some really fun and meaningful props and some helpful friends of Michele's, this session couldn't have been more fun or hilarious to witness and capture!

I think all of us could take a little something from Michele and her session. Michele chose this quote for one of her props, 'Life should not only be lived, it should be celebrated.' Too true Michele.

We had so much fun doing the friends boudoir sessions last year, that we decided to do it again! Here's what's different though... these sessions will take place outside! Every boudoir session I've shot outside has been absolutely gorgeous and SO fun!
